Apple Grape Dessert Pizza

Anthony was hungry for dessert so he came up with this dessert pizza recipe. Better than Pizza Hut dessert pizzas, his fluffy almost biscuit like crust was topped with homemade red grape and apple pie filling. Baby Shastya and I enjoyed watching Daddy prepare food.

Pizza On Request

Anthony requested pizza for supper. By all means I made him some pizza! Pizza is my favorite food ever. I made my own sauce. It was delicious. An onion, two roma tomatoes, 2 tsp minced garlic, basil, Italian seasoning, 2 Tb Ketchup, and 1 cup of water made up my sauce.

Half Veggie Half Pepperoni

I wanted to make my half of the pizza with no saturated fat. I did. I also decided to leave out some other things. Guess what. I made dough with no oil, no sugar, and no salt. Don't try this at home. What I had on my hands was just shy of tacky glue. It was all over my bread machine canister too. I did put some Italian herbs in my dough for a flavor factor. A little salt wouldn't have hurt the recipe.

On to toppings. I used leftover sauce I had from the other day. Then, I put mozzarella and pepperoni on Anthony's half. On my side, I put yellow squash, onion, and mini peppers all of which I had artfully sliced.

My half was so amazing I did not even miss the cheese! My veggie half quickly rose to all-star status in my experience with veggie pizzas. Gonna try this one again.

Sausage Pizza

I wanted to make something a little different or special for supper to celebrate Anthony's last day of exams before he graduates with his Master's in Mechanical Engineering. He loves pepperoni pizza, so I thought I would make that but also add sausage. He really liked the pizza.

Sausage:

Italian Sausage
Ground Ginger
Dried Basil
Chopped Onion
Soy Sauce

Cajun Pasta Pizza Pie

This past Saturday afternoon, Anthony was getting hungry so I asked him what he wanted for lunch. He said pizza. I looked over our ingredients supply to make sure pizza was a possibility. We had some grated mozzarella in the freezer. Anthony likes meat toppings on his pizza. We had some sausage and chicken in the freezer but I was trying to think of something that didn't need to be thawed. We also had lunch meat ham in the fridge but I wanted to save that for Anthony's sack lunch sandwiches. Then I remembered a certain container of leftovers that had some meat in it. The container actually had leftovers from 3 separate meals in it.  I had combined 1) penne pasta, 2) tomato sauce, and 3) 3 flavor rotini & bow-tie pasta with black bean and meat sauce. One of my friends, Kim Neptune, had made the pasta with meat sauce dish for me and my husband after we returned home from the hospital. I used my pasta pot for a pizza topping between layers of cheese. I then added Cajun seasoming, and red pepper flakes. We loved our Cajun Pasta Pizza Pie! There needs to be a Pasta Pizza Pie Restaurant! There could be ravioli pizza pie, fettuccine alfredo pizza pie etc.

Homemade Pizza Dough with the Bread Machine

For tonight's homemade pizza dough with the bread machine I used one of my old pizza cookbooks that my brother gave me for my birthday one year. I just used the traditional dough recipe, adjusted it to my bread machine, and added some extra sugar because I like my dough a little sweeter. I also just used vegetable oil instead of olive oil because that is what I had on hand. I used my favorite brand sauce, Hunts, the garlic & onion variety. For toppings I cut up sweet mini peppers, half of a bell pepper, and some smoked ham. In addition to these I also scattered grated mozzarella and bacon pieces over my pie. I put a dusting of cornmeal on the bottom for some texture. I also turned my oven temperature higher than most recipes call for. I just like it that way. You better believe the pizza shops have hot and toasty ovens! My pizza was an amazing success. We were so happy to have some leftovers despite the fact that the pizza was so tasty. Now we can save some of this delicious pizza in our freezer so we will have some good food after baby Garland arrives and I'm recuperating.
