I was just curious...I notice a lot of your chicken recipes use chicken tenders. Are these the frozen kind? If so, wouldnt it be cheaper and healthier to buy fresh chicken, cut it into strips and freeze them for separate meals?
Good point Mom! I do buy raw chicken some of the time. The chicken tenders I used in this post were a frozen variety I happened to get as part of a Bilo meal deal! I think the meal deal cost around $13 and included 1 bag of chicken patties, 1 bag of chicken tenders, 1 bag of sweet potato waffle fries, 1 box of cheese-filled bread sticks, and my favorite . . . 1 box of chocolate ice cream sandwiches! Anthony, please refrain from commenting about the ice cream sandwiches. Lol.
Buying whole chickens is a pretty good alternative too. I'm really picky and only eat breast meat, but my husband and middle child will pretty much eat any part of the chicken. We'll buy the whole chicken and cut it up for different things and just freeze stuff for later, it works really well!
Usually we split it raw...or I should say, my husband does :) I hate to cook and only do it because I have to too. He on the other hand loves to cook and like you, experiment.
The other good thing about the whole chicken is that its usually pretty cheap to buy compared to just buying breast or thighs. Here in my neck of the woods I'm paying 20.00 for a pack of chicken breasts!
That last picture is my plate

I told my Mom about thinking you were her. We had a good laugh! I'll have to try the whole chicken thing. Do you split it up raw or cooked?

I will have to try splitting one up raw sometime. Thanks for the idea.
