Futuristic Cookies

Today I tried something new. I made cookies without a recipe. While Anthony and I ate delicious said cookies, we discussed whether heating cookies without an oven via a laser was possible. First, he asked me if I thought it was possible. I replied, "probably, with some adapting. People manage to cook by all sorts of mediums such as ovens, stoves, and camp fires." I asked Anthony if he thought making cookies using a laser to heat them was realistic. He said that 3D printing cookies and somehow heating them with a laser is an idea. Anthony added that lasers might be more efficient than all the wasted heat in the oven. One cookie could be zapped at a time. I added that maybe there could be a sensor screen in the oven, and a grid of lasers. A computer could gather info from the sensor screen such as the number of cookies and their locations and then the lasers could shoot the cookies.

Field Trip

Shastya got to go on her first field trip this afternoon. The field trip was watching Daddy put a spare on our car out in our parking lot. Shastya really enjoyed the fresh air on this fall Saturday morning. She also liked listening to the not too distant sounds of children playing, a puppy barking, and someone hammering away on an indoor fall project. She was a little distracted, and I don't think she will remember how to put a spare tire on a car.

New Technique

Tonight I tried a quicker technique for making dumplings. I rolled out the dough, and then cut out the dumpling rounds with a glass.

Garland Knots

Okay, so my recipe name for Garlic Knots is officially switched to Garland Knots! Anthony claims them. Not only did he request them for dinner after he learned we did not have cheese for pizza, he suggested that we rename them Garland Knots after he ate them with dinner! Did I mention he loves them!

The Project

Anthony's parents came over last night and spent part of the evening with us and baby Shastya. They brought with them family heirloom furniture to complete our nursery. They gave us the family rocking chair to rock Shastya in. She's going to have to get used to it. She's not quite sure what to think of a rocking chair yet. We like it though. The other item is a beautiful white dresser that Dad Garland built. Today's project was stuffing the dresser drawers with all baby Shastya's things! I had fun. A friend requested pictures, so here they are.

Cajun Pasta Pizza Pie

This past Saturday afternoon, Anthony was getting hungry so I asked him what he wanted for lunch. He said pizza. I looked over our ingredients supply to make sure pizza was a possibility. We had some grated mozzarella in the freezer. Anthony likes meat toppings on his pizza. We had some sausage and chicken in the freezer but I was trying to think of something that didn't need to be thawed. We also had lunch meat ham in the fridge but I wanted to save that for Anthony's sack lunch sandwiches. Then I remembered a certain container of leftovers that had some meat in it. The container actually had leftovers from 3 separate meals in it.  I had combined 1) penne pasta, 2) tomato sauce, and 3) 3 flavor rotini & bow-tie pasta with black bean and meat sauce. One of my friends, Kim Neptune, had made the pasta with meat sauce dish for me and my husband after we returned home from the hospital. I used my pasta pot for a pizza topping between layers of cheese. I then added Cajun seasoming, and red pepper flakes. We loved our Cajun Pasta Pizza Pie! There needs to be a Pasta Pizza Pie Restaurant! There could be ravioli pizza pie, fettuccine alfredo pizza pie etc.
