The Project

Anthony's parents came over last night and spent part of the evening with us and baby Shastya. They brought with them family heirloom furniture to complete our nursery. They gave us the family rocking chair to rock Shastya in. She's going to have to get used to it. She's not quite sure what to think of a rocking chair yet. We like it though. The other item is a beautiful white dresser that Dad Garland built. Today's project was stuffing the dresser drawers with all baby Shastya's things! I had fun. A friend requested pictures, so here they are.

Cajun Pasta Pizza Pie

This past Saturday afternoon, Anthony was getting hungry so I asked him what he wanted for lunch. He said pizza. I looked over our ingredients supply to make sure pizza was a possibility. We had some grated mozzarella in the freezer. Anthony likes meat toppings on his pizza. We had some sausage and chicken in the freezer but I was trying to think of something that didn't need to be thawed. We also had lunch meat ham in the fridge but I wanted to save that for Anthony's sack lunch sandwiches. Then I remembered a certain container of leftovers that had some meat in it. The container actually had leftovers from 3 separate meals in it.  I had combined 1) penne pasta, 2) tomato sauce, and 3) 3 flavor rotini & bow-tie pasta with black bean and meat sauce. One of my friends, Kim Neptune, had made the pasta with meat sauce dish for me and my husband after we returned home from the hospital. I used my pasta pot for a pizza topping between layers of cheese. I then added Cajun seasoming, and red pepper flakes. We loved our Cajun Pasta Pizza Pie! There needs to be a Pasta Pizza Pie Restaurant! There could be ravioli pizza pie, fettuccine alfredo pizza pie etc.

Baby Shastya!

Any feedback? Should I take a maternity leave from blogging? Loving every precious minute with my baby girl, making memories for a lifetime.  Thought I'd post some pics of our beautiful Shastya Felisya:) Her names are kind of a play on the word happiness in first Russian then Spanish. Both names are kind of translations/transliterations from these languages!

A shout out to Oconee Medical Center in Seneca, SC for delivering our precious baby. Excellent staff and facilities! Baby weighed 6 lbs. 6 oz. and was 19 inches long! Mommy and Baby are both home and doing well:)

Pasta With Green Vegetables

Anthony and I were were really hungry when we got back from church tonight so I made pasta. Here is a list of what else I put in our dinner:

4 TB Butter
Small Onion
Head of Garlic
Half of a Bell Pepper
Head of Broccoli
Milk
Dried Basil
Cayenne Pepper
Flour

Dinner was amazing. It was difficult to stop eating it!

Banana Almond Oatmeal

So I'm not going to lie. Breakfast this morning wasn't amazing. It was a little watered down, too much water in my oatmeal. Oh well, next time. Wasn't bad either, I just ate it. Figured I could use the hydration. At least the bowl I made for Anthony had the right amount of liquid.

Banana Almond Oatmeal:

Quick Oats
Banana
Chopped Dry Roasted Almonds
Maple Syrup
Water
Milk
